I have always known myself drawn to observing the raven's triumphs in nature. They fly busy from one flower onto the next fruit seeking seeds serving as a guide along the way to those who know to follow. Exploring the woods and rugged terrain is second nature by now, but a few times taking pause to observe a raven at first acting odd and then observing me back. Shortly after the raven departs, I find myself having just missed a predator keeping in the raven's pressence. It is only later I find they are a bird known for protection, because they have certainly saved me from confronting many predators around the woods this rings true. The raven's wisdom as a forager can again serve to guide a hungry soul to edible forestry if you do follow them without scaring them. Perhaps their ability to recognize when a predator may strike unsuspecting prey and protect them stems from the deep understanding of the woods, or maybe it is a more mystic trait. I have seen a raven get my attention actively, and guide me into a cave before a storm surprised me and I would have needed to find shelter however never found the raven guide who first brought me in so I did learn to trust in the blessings the raven chooses to give as a protector myself. ~Balistraria, DreaDTempesT | |
