As the Ranger slept it was my turn to keep watch. The forest moaned and rustled like it does in the night. I wrapped the cloak around me tighter and inched nearer to the fire. In between the trees I could hear the rustling of bushes indicating something moving. Perhaps it was passing deer or perhaps it was a pack of wolves spying and waiting. Whatever it was it was not daring enough to approach us while we rested thankfully. After a few more hours and a little more wood the the fire the Ranger woke and it was now my shift to sleep but in the forest it is always best to always be weary, even in your sleep.

The next morning I woke to see a pile of smoking embers inside a circle of rocks. The Ranger was squatting in front of it looking like he has been waiting patiently. He looked at me and said, ?Come, it is time we go. If we are to scout more terrain we must first fill our stomachs.? We had not eaten in a long while and it was time to forage for food. I had already packed my bag with two dead pheasants but  that was not enough energy for two people planning to scout vast into the wilderness. Thankfully the Ranger had great knowledge of herbs and berries and he located a nice bush of berries that were edible. We packed our bags with as much as the bush could provide. That was not enough though, we needed a little extra protein to refuel our muscles from the previous day. We found our way to a great meadow and in the distance we could see white silhouettes in the distance, sheep. We slowly snuck our way nearer to the sheep, staying quite. Eventually we got near to a straggler and decided this was the one for our feast. The Ranger immediately pulled out his bow but I signaled him to wait a moment. Even though he had perfect accuracy with his bow I decided to help a small bit. Focusing my qi and my elemental abilities I summoned cold winds that froze the sheep in place. The sheep had no chance. The Ranger smiled and hit the sheep in the head with a swift arrow, a quick death.

Like all dwellers of the wilderness we did not let one part of the sheep go to waste. The meat and intestines were for food, and the wool for weaving into future clothing. We setup camp once again near a forested area near a river. I used me elemental abilities again to light the fire. We feasted on sheep meat and berries as we conversed over the fire. The Ranger eventually looked at me with a look of content, ?Well done.? he said with a grin on his face.
