My mother had discovered a tome entitled "The Secrets of Nergal". She could feel a powerful dark aura eminating from the tome.  The aura seduced her and lured her into reading the tome.  Inside the tome she found a myriad of secrets, revealing dark spells and incantations of terrible power, and one very special excerpt of note.  The excerpt contained information on an evil spirit that had been sealed away in the tome for millenia.  The excerpt also contained the incantation neccessary to free the spirit, along with a proposition that was far too tempting for my mother to turn down: In the event that the evil spirit is set free, whoever is able to overcome it shall gain all of the spirit's power.

The ensuing clash of magic was so great, that their power could be felt throughout all of Zeal.  For nearly half an hour my mother and the spirit unleashed a flurry of spells.  However, there was one element of the ritual to release the spirit that my mother had overlooked in her desire for power.  The spirit had the ability to bind with the spirit of the one that released it.  The spirit had been toying with my mother the whole time, testing her power.  Pleased with the amount of power she possessed, the spirit invoked the spell to bind with my mother's own spirit.  My mother was helpless as the evil spirit took over her spirit and possessed her body.

My mother returned back to the palace, boasting of a new power she had acquired on her journey.  For a while, we were none the wiser about what had truly happened that day.  However, over time I was able to notice a change in her demeanor as well as a change in her aura.  I felt as if something was amiss, but had no way to be sure of exactly what it was.  Then one night, my fears were confirmed.  I awoke in a cold sweat in the middle of the night; I could feel an ominous power in my parents' chambers.  I arose from my bed and crept to the door of my parents' room, feeling the power growing ever stronger.  I peeked inside the room to see my mother rip the spirit of my father from his body and cast it into dark oblivion.

Filled with rage at what I had just witnessed, I thrust open the doors and began the incantation for my most powerful spell. Having inhabited my mother's body, the spirit gained all of my mother's knowledge.  It knew everything about me including my true power, but also my one weakness.  The spirit was afraid of me.  It knew that it could not match my power, so it utilized my weakness.  (I shall not say what that weakness is or how the spirit utilized it.)  This caused me to halt my spell and to drop my guard.  That one moment is all the spirit needed to gain the advantage over me.  It sealed away my memory, my power, and my knowledge of spells and incantations.  Why the spirit simply did not kill me I do not know.

However, not killing me will be the greatest mistake the spirit has ever made.  The next thing I can remember is awakening at an inn in a strange land.  I had no possessions nor any memory remaining at all.  I found out I had been found lying unconscious in a nearby cave.  I know not to this day how I came to be in this strange place called "Tangun".  I thanked the innkeeper for her help, and set off in search of answers.  Anything that could tell me where I came from or who I was.

During my journey, I came into the land of Nagnang.  As I wandered about asking questions and if anyone knew who I was or where I could have came from, I came across a young diviner named "Tuhon".  He was very polite and courteous and told me he came from a people called "The Silla".  He told me a bit about his people and told me I would be more than welcome to stay with them for as long as I wanted to.  I thanked him for the hospitality and accepted his offer.  Many Hyuls passed as I continued to search for answers, but to no avail.
