Scouting Report - Kamings Refugees Location: South Kamings Encampment Scount Leader: Nohjis Attendees: ManofSteel, Nemesis Purpose: Check in and provide assistance to the Sonhi Refugees. Prior to this scouting trip I packed my bags full of supplies. I loaded up on Cloth and Roasted chicken to give to the refugees if they were found. We entered the Encampment and began to head south. We made sure to avoid the guards that attempted to block our path. Some sleep traps were in order to prevent them from catching us. After we brushed the dust off of our boots, we found ourselves in the Forbidden route which was quiet and filled with mossy oaks and fractured rocks. The terrain was filled with thick lush grass, causing us to take high steps while walking through. It appeared as if someone had come through this area already as there was a wagon left behind and the remains of ship. Towards the end of the grass, there seemed to be an old concrete road heading west. We ventured upon this road. The Forgotten Road. This is a path that fits it's name. This road hasn't been repaired in many Hyul's, if ever. We continued west on this road, making sure to avoid the cracks and moss. Although quiet, this road provides a nice scenic view. As we got halfway through the path, a cave appeared to the north. *takes a step in* The Abandoned Cave. As we walk in, there was an immediate smell of smoke and wax. Four candles lit, and a radiator fuming. Not a soul was in sight. We examed the cave and noticed the bed was still warm, as if someone had been laying on it recently. We thought it would be a good idea to put the fires out before we head out to prevent the cave from going up in flames. We came to the realization that neither of us had brought water so we had to figure out a way to snuff out the flame. I tried my trust buckler but the heat was too much for me to hold this over the flame. I singed my fingers a tad. Nemesis quickly summoned his aerial companion which was a gigantic bat. Flapping it's wings over and over helped exstinguish the flames. We gathered our thoughts and headed out of the cave. We continued west on the Forgotten road and soon found ourselves in the Sonhi Gorge. Again we found ourselves on an empty path surrouced by Mossy Oaks, cracks in the road, and moss on the ground. We carefully continued north on this path until we reached the Aprok Village. The Aprok Village. Welcoming us into this village was a young child standing, almost guarding the area. He gave me a quick glance and then looked away... I felt suspsicion but this was only a child, what kind of trouble could they be getting into? On this trip, we were to identify repairs that may be in need. Immediately we noticed a cracked well that could use some repairs. There were broken pots outside of a house that could also be repaired. As we scouted the area we noticed more broken pots but the heat source, the furnace, seemed to be in good shape. This was being watched by a young Sonhi Refugee Girl. We entered the Aprok Tavern which seemed to be filled with Sonhi Refugee Children and a Woman. It was strange that there were no other refugees in site. The Sonhi Refugee Elder sat behind the bar. Not saying much, he paced back and forth. We decided to leave some supplies before checking the area for the rest of the refugees. We unpacked our bags and gave up cloth and plenty of food. Hopefully this will tide them over until the next batch arrives. Aprok Chief House. We made our way into the old Chief House. This had a very rustic scent to it. We walked around to check to make sure there were no fires in dangerous places and to search for other refugees. We found a few but it seemed there were still some missing. There was reports of a shadowy figure in the forest so we were under the impression that they were out searching for this mysterious creature. We were guided by a refugee woman to head west to search for these refugees. -- Continued on next page | |
