I could not help but be curious if the peas had improved. Speaking with kin farmers who were struggling with the crop this year, I had spent some time tending to the farmlands. Seeking blessings from Druantia, calls to fertility. Perhaps my prayers go unanswered, the peas have not improved. The pulls of rot seems quicker than I have ever seen... That is not all that is unusual, come to think of it. It is the time of year that the stags rut...but... The aggression, it's magnified? The deer are most gentle creatures, they follow their instincts though too of course, I expect some battle of the fittest. But why does the victor not stop? Two ruts I have seen have ended in peril for the defeated stag over the last few days. Yes, an occasional death can happen when a stag does not know when to back down and he dies from exhaustion or just one blow too many...but what I have witnessed seems darker. The victor continues until there is no breath in his opponent. It has piqued my desire to observe what is happening elsewhere, and I cannot help but feel the draw of the forest north of where I live... What is happening where no shadows cast and many are lost? I have to find out. ~Perri | |
