When I first used the Spirit Rattle, it was during a kut, shortly after I became a shaman. At that time, Dohsa Momiji lent me Spirit Rattle. I gently held the Spirit Rattle in my hand and started to shake it softly. As the sound of the rattle echoed across the snowy mountains, I felt the lost souls of the mountain approaching me, and the air around me grew colder. "Hear this rattle sound, and let your voices be heard." As I shook the Spirit Rattle, I heard the voices of the spirits clearly. Guided by the sound, I could see their several spirit forms. Some shared their stories directly with me, while others wished to borrow my body briefly, using my voice to speak their words to the world. As time passed, I decided to craft my own Spirit Rattle, so I could better listen to their stories. Some spirits spoke of their lingering regrets, others of dreams they could never fulfill, some expressed sorrow over loved ones they had left behind, while others spoke of vengeance against their enemies. With the sound of the rattle, I could connect more deeply with these spirits, preserving their memories and sharing their stories with the world. As a neutral shaman, Spirit Rattle symbolizes my responsibility and role. And creating an essential bridge that allows me to reach out to spirits.
