The old man conned us.

"Be sure t'write!" *THWACK*

I woke up in one of the inns. Pea was not with me, perhaps another tavern. Thankfully we had talked of where to meet each other when we arrived.

I meticulously packed, checked, and double checked all my belongings before stepping a foot off that boat.

Of course I did not expect to be blind sided by my own father, knocking me out and stealing my crossbow!

I knew only of his betrayal when I went to retrieve my belongings from the inn keeper, her looking at me as if I had two heads!

No quivers, either.

I have not seen Pea around yet...I do wonder whether she was also clapped across the head as we left...I hope she has not forgotten me.

It is strange walking through flat lands, firm to your feet at all times. The wilds and Nagnang thankfully are more naturally uneven, easier for me to navigate like the decks of the boat. My feet hit hard and awkwardly against the paved ways of the town lands.

We spent our first years on land. Well I did, Pea is a little younger than I, the old man obviously found something sweet in our mother that he sought her again. Perhaps that was the real reason he came back after the Han army pillaged and burned down the village, finding Pea cradled annd protected in our mother's arms, Mother slumped over her with a dagger to her back.

I was found wandering outside near by, a boot mark bruised into my chest. Old man said I was lucky, an impact like that on small childs frame would have certainly usually caused fatal damage.

From then on we have only known living on the water. I worked on maintenance and fishing, Pea prepared food for the crew as soon as she was old enough. I miss her cooking, she was quite proficient. Perhaps she will bring some of her homemades when we meet again.

I hope we meet again.
