I journeyed to the place of tranquility -- Wilderness in the eastern forests, where the water flows endlessly and unbothered by time. As I sat by there on edge, I closed my eyes and listened; not just with my ears, but with my spirit. The gurgling rhythm of the water spoke in a language other than words, inviting me to flow with it, to be flexible, persistent, and ever-adapting. Water, I realized, doesn't resist; it yields, yet shapes everything it touches. I saw reflections not just of trees and sky, but of myself. This reminded me of my earliest days as a Merchant, learning not just the value of goods, but the value of timing, of patience, and of subtle influence. I began not with coin, but with observation -- studying flows of trade like currents, adjusting course like a boat in tide. As I meditated, I realized how deeply water had always been with me. In my trades, I've flowed between clans, markets, and people -- sometimes overlooked, but always moving, always absorbing. When others clashed, I listened. When others held fast, I shifted. It shaped me into someone others could turn to for quiet clarity and grounded advice. In many ways, my journey as a Merchant was not toward power, but toward stillness. That stillness became the wellspring from which I now guide others. The bond between myself and the waters of this land is not fleeting. This stream, this place, mirrors my own growth: from a current among many, to one that helps carve new channels for others. -Splurge Goldsworth | |
