Lastly, I sat out on my journey of Water. My quest brought me back to the outreaches of the Wilderness, far beyond the eyes of your typical town dweller, to an opening in the Western Forest. Here lied a small waterfall, dribbling over the hill, feeding in to a natural hot spring. I would often come here to unpack my thoughts when the weight of the day would become too heavy. I submerged myself in the spring. Paying close attention to the feeling of the hot water, almost scalding to the touch, as it slowly enveloped me. I could feel the cuts on my arms, pricked open by thorns and brush, as the hot water cleansed them. Feeling the cold droplets of the waterfall splash as they cascaded into the spring below. I think, the same water that brings life to the weary and cleanses our wounds, also ravages the land it touches, as I recall the Sunken Tree. I too, suffer from impulsiveness. The same tongue that speak words of encouragement, also prone to lashing out at those close. When I was released from my mind, the sun had fallen. I dried myself off and prepared for the trek back home. Feeling a sense of calm, I had began to find the answers I was looking for. For many, they may question where their alignments fall. Myself, I feel a strong connection to Water. I often find myself in a sense of turmoil, as if I'm caught in a whirlpool, circling a fate unknown. I see now that while the unknown may be frightful, there is also a beauty. Settle your nerves, enter the waters, and revel in the idea that while the unknown may be scary - it can also be our turning point. A second chance if you will - at the endless possibilities at which await us. I wish to embrace this turning point fully, to further align myself with Water, and fully devote myself to discovering the unknown. | |
