We gathered at Buya east gate and proceeded into the Islets. Our first stop was at the old bridge. There was a beautiful waterfall. We learned how to prepare water for drinking by several methods. Before leaving, Our guide had us looking the bridge over, we discussed how to look for unsound foundations, broken, rotting or missing planks. I discovered a large crack in a main foundation and let it be known to everyone.
Having crossed safely, we stopped at an abandoned stage. Here we learned how to construct a shelter and the materials that would be needed.
Quotah then challenged us. We had to locate her without being seen. I hadn't thought of the far-seeing eye until someone else mentioned it. With that skill, the cover of bushes and trees, I slowly made my way to her location. At one point, I came face-to-face with, of all things, a tiger. I thought for certain either the tiger or my pounding heart would give away my position. Luckily for me, the tiger wasn't hungry and moved away. I had to wait a few moments for my heart to quiet down. But I did make it, unseen.
From there, we traversed south, close to the stone ogres. I found my eyes and ears were on high alert. Although we saw a couple, they remained uninterested in us. On this stop, we learned about foraging and bow and arrow creation. I was astounded when one in our party, plucked at blossom, popped it in his mouth and began to chew. I was expecting one of two things, he would become violently ill or die. I thought this due to another in our party named it a Dusk Blossom, a rather poisonous flower. I think it was a different flower that was eaten and for that I am thankful.
Everyone had so many excellent ideas to setting up a perimeter for safety were voiced. This, I feel, is often overlooked by people who don't understand the importance of this skill.
Our last stop was at Nixhill's cottage. Another of the party, read the map he was given and successfully lead our group to the house. Having entered, we were instructed to create a map legend of the interior of the house. A  task I enjoyed immensely.
Here we ended our lessons. Personally, I feel like we did an outstanding job. Our guide, Quotah, gave to us the ways and means to be better able to survive in wilderness. She not only shared her knowledge but required us to come up with our own ideas on each scenario we faced. I learned so much information from her and from everyone there.
