~~~Continued~~~ The obviously youngest child began to peek and noticed Velka's tears "why are you crying, miss?" Velka smiled. "This will be a very good game today. It will be a close match and you will all play your hardest, while having and creating such wonderful moments that will be cherished for a long time. The work that the adults do around here is hard and tough and can make it difficult to live outside of the moment but you children have an important role here... do you know what it is?" Puzzled looks came across most of their faces. "Take out the garbage?" "Feed the cat?" "No." Velka smiled. "Why do you think they watch you so closely?" "Because we?re funny!" "They are too tired to play themselves" "Yes," Velka nodded. "And more than that... you remind them why they work" "Oooooo" The children said as they leaned in closer. "Come play with us!" The children yelled in sync. Velka did join the children. She played with them until it was time for the game where she stayed and watched. Talking with the villagers about their small, forgotten town. The game was close and exciting and the youngest child scored the game winner. As Velka returned to her home in Kugnae, she contemplated the small village lifestyle and considered how the rhythm of chores stitched the present so tightly that neither past nor future could unravel it, giving vibrant life to a small, forgotten village. | |
