Hello reader!: In my journeys I find alot of information that when put in certain framing, heck maybe even just even framed with a word, has been revelatory for myself. I am kinda wish to share some of those experiences with you. Just trying to bump some heads. ((I know, i know its bumped already but thats what this lesson is all about! BUMP IT AGAIN)) In Buddhism, the Three Marks of Existence also called Three Universal Truths or Three Characteristics of Existence are fundamental teachings that describe the nature of all conditioned phenomena. I would like to focus Anitya.. Perhaps the most fundamental, but that is just my point of view; today. Keep in mind I will probably tell you many things are the most fundamental, and this I believe to be the point of Anitya. Everything changes, everything crumbles, everything dies. Your own core values? Subject to change! If you wander far enough, I can almost guarantee it. ((Lets set the tone and change the course of this lesson with and give some context to this dreary word. We will return to these dark thoughts.)) Anitya(Sanskrit)/Anicca (Pali)?Impermanence This core teaching in Buddism, understanding impermanence. Everything is transient and subject to change?thoughts, emotions, material objects, and even life itself. Because nothing lasts, clinging to things leads to suffering (Dukkha) ((Dukkha I may go over deeper if requested.)) There are many different avenues we can take in explination of this.. Love, material goods, family, dealing with day the day to day (( I.E. job, co-workers)). ((haha, dukkha)) Perhaps these are things you can meditate about on your own. This is all different for all of us, so lets dicuss something we all have in common.((back to darkness)) Aging! ((YAY!!)) Lets find some joy in it! ((With the right picture frame: Anitya)) Buddhists do not see the end as scary or difficult, but as natural and unavoidable. Aging is not something to fear! Contrary, you must TRY to understand. Perhaps, in understanding and even embracing the inevitblity of age and death, This will allow you to cherrish the present moment, while not clinging to said moment too much. In all actions there are returning consequences, cherish the moment but do no harm yourself or others. It is not just your moment either, it is every orginisims moment as well. Which ripples do you chose to cast into the world? Are they good? Are they permanent? Will it wither? Could it make another suffer? Will I suffer? Use the fact youre aging as fuel to reignite the fire. Be here now. Embrace what that which we cannot control. Diciple of many ways but still just a monk Wangateur (( Final note: o/ Bitter sweet symphony - the Verve o/ )) | |
