A large wooden rod with three rotating pieces, each piece engraved with prefix runes, base runes, and suffix runes around their outside ring. Turning and clicking into place from small gears hidden within. The runes line up and glow briefly as spells are triggered, before rearranging into the next required type of magic.

A multitude of thin, spiderweb-like threads extend from each end, running to every part of the doll that needs manipulated. Aside from this 'core', there was only a very basic wooden skeleton to support and balance the doll. With this network of parts, the automaton was able to function and move, despite its enchantment not being strong enough to completely hold its own shape and move its parts without a supplemental system of distributing force and weight holding it up.

It was a delicate and complicated thing. An accident. Created from ancient magic that was counterfeited from memory and materials stolen away from a tomb that is no longer accessible. It ripped away a large part of its creator's blood and soul when it was activated, a catalyst that was unexpected, and very nearly killed the old shaman.

But with this portion of soul and blood, the doll became a being with a will of its own. And with the magic from the tomb, it became something with a divergent and unintended purpose and obsession.

It gathers power. It heals. It inspires. It hunts. It serves.

The enchantment and will grows ever stronger.

While the seal weakens.

--
The divine power tying the totem pillars together is nearly spent. The gods have deemed this world unworthy of their time, and the many seals they helped weave are already failing. This world is soon to experience every threat that was forgotten and left to rot behind their seals. The seal I await will not be the first to break, but it will be the one that I break myself.

War is coming. But there will be no fighting for mortals. It will be a fight between the mortals' strongest enemies. And it will be a fight for which one gets to crush mortals once and for all.

Everyone should be prepared. Prepared to pick a side.. And fervently hope that they win; because no one is left to hear to your prayers.
