"It never rains in the Islets" said my guide as we began our trip to the Buyan beaches. Our journey started in the Islets as we passed the Muse subpath area. We commented on and about the Muses and our experiences with them. My brother had danced with them before and maintains a good relationship with them, I've seen him on stage in the past at cabaret, singing and dancing. As we walked through the Darkwoods we came upon a bridge. Although it appeared stable, we checked it for stability, as there was much green moss on it. Nohjis herself jumped on the bridge to show us it was sturdy. We were informed that ebony wood and berries could be gathered from around us. A common interruption in these parts of the woods was the constant harassment from dark bucks. They would walk up to us and begin to accost us with their antlers. Our group was feeling generous today as we avoided them and left harmless traps to delay their pursuit. Further into the Darkwoods we came upon some glowing hexagrams on the floor, we took care to not tread on them as to not disturb the Haggard witch. We took in the sights of the hexagrams and her home before heading southwards. We came upon a large farm, some say the largest in the Kingdoms; if anyone ever needs farming done this would be the spot. A little out of the way, but its gated and there are few 'pests' around. Dark bucks kept approaching our group as we went followed a road east that was full of trees and shade. Eventually the forest broke and we arrived upon a rocky high ground that overlooked a beach. Our group followed some stairs down to the sand where we saw some peaceful sea turtles roaming around, unfortunately also accompanied by some very fast and aggressive seagulls. I zapped some down and collected some bird meat for later. We saw a large lighthouse to the south and headed there, careful to avoid what seagulls we could. When we arrived we entered to see the place empty, we were told that pirates used to use the location. We settled in for the night outside where a fire pit was constructed and we were able to eat some bird meat carefully cooked by Folktales. Dave stayed behind as the rest of the group got their feet wet. We ate around the fire as we discussed cooking in the Kingdoms and complimented Folktales for his culinary skill. | |
