Today I got to go on adventure with Ranger Nohjis. And what an adventure it was! We began our journey in southern Koguryo and made our way to the islets. There, we explored some old abandoned buildings and checked that the bridges were still sound. (Nohjis is probably still recovering from her mishap of a jump.) They were. Nohjis showed me how to prepare a snare trap and then sent me off to practice making them myself - on ogres! Luckily, I can harden my body and I was able to successfully ensnare THREE of them. THREE! She quickly dispatched them and took the ambers. I told her she should make some new earrings - but who knows what she will actually do. We continued on to the only covered bridge in all of the islets. I made a lame joke about it coming in handy during rain - if islets ever got rain. She was tired. Of me? Of the adventure? Who knows, but she needed a rest. I rolled out a long sheet of paper that I had previously waxed. I tied one end to a tree and stretched it out and placed a large rock on the other end. A lovely little sunshade for her to take a nap under. And snore. And nap. And talk about her ever growing collection of acorns. After she had her rest, we rolled up my paper and continued on to the beach! She forgot her bikini. So we decided to stop in and visit an old witch in the forest. There were some runes etched into the land but the witch had locked herself in her hut. We figured it would not be a good idea to disturb her, so we went on. I saw a boar as we went through the woods - but Nohjis ran away claiming it would bite us. I was hoping to try to befriend it and use it as a mount. A woodland goblin running around on a boar? The imagery would be amazing. We eventually got to the beach. It smelled overwhelmingly of fish. Nohjis said it smelled like a beach. I disagreed. As we were debating the smell - we were attacked by some birds! They pecked out Nohjis's eyes, but thankfully I was able to heal her up. We quickly moved onto the piers... Where we saw sun-drying fish everywhere! I knew I smelled fish. We went to the end of the piers where we discovered we were being stalked. Stalked by Elder Tsirl! We chatted a little bit about our earlier adventurers. She asked if we had made it to the lighthouse yet, but we had not. Nohjis told her that my feet were sore. (But we both know it is because her ankle was bothering her.) Soon we will have to make it to the lighthouse though. Perhaps as man and wife? Zenath, the Buffalo of the Mists | |
