It is a fact that this game, including its beta phase, nears 30 years old, with the 28th anniversary of its 1998 official launch soon. Much of the player base in 2026 consists of people that grew up with this game, and though may have taken the occasional sabbatical, have spent the better part of their lives with the community. This brings us to the nature of the notice today. Former Head Judge and tenured member of Bear Clan, Teragg, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. As a brief description of the figure, Teragg was a cornerstone of the Nexus community for decades, as someone who was with a large portion of the player base as they grew up. His character was created in Yuri 33 (roughly in the year 2000), meant to be a companion to his real life son, GokouB, who is also a frequenter of the game. In-game, he was married to Esmerelda. Though he never joined a Subpath, he has been a member of Bear Clan since at least February 3, 2008 and retained a Council position. He famously kickstarted the effort known as the Random Acts of Kindness campaign operated by the Bear Clan for a time. In 2006, Teragg would take on the mantle of Judge, and by 2008, became Head Judge for his first time. Though he took hiatus from the role between 2009 and 2011, he retained the title for 14 more years, until March 14, 2025. It was on that day he began his indefinite hiatus. He could be described as having been a solo player in his personal playstyle of the game, as he was not a hunter nor a crafter (though he occasionally mined). Instead, Teragg's presence in Nexus consisted of being a prominent a figure in the Justice department or within his clan. However, it will be hard to find players, especially those who grew up with the game in the early 2000s, that had not met the man or heard of him, his generosity, his earnestness when it came to the law, or his kindness as a fatherly figure to many. His dedication to the Justice Team was to the point that his Yellow Scroll and spawn point was actually set in Final Judgment (the most used courtroom). When it came to his practices as Judge and Head Judge, he was regarded as a fair sentencer and reciter of the game laws. He believed the law to be impartial, but at the same time, that examination of the perpetrator was necessary to gauge if the intention was to be an outlaw, or just an example of human error. He posed that this was indeed a game, being played by real people, who sometimes just made mistakes that needed someone to sit down with them, eye-to-eye. As such, his policy was to attempt to correct course first, with punishment being the last resort after multiple graces. But at the same time, he had a zero tolerance for dramatics. Teragg loved this game and its community, even the troublemakers. Teragg was always physically recognizable as being a Chung Ryong who wore the Honorary Chongun sapphire dye on his Wind Armor (previously, merely Chung Ryong or Wind blue, before 2010). He also wore the same hairstyle with the blue headband for his entire Nexus career. The Wind Armor was appropriately engraved ** Master of Kindness ** in reflection of his desire to spread kindness in the community, despite his hard position as an enforcer of order. As we gather to remember Teragg, Nexus Atlas is welcoming the submission of screenshots of Teragg. Because of the vast spread of people Teragg's influence touched, we do ask the community's help in notifying old players of the unfortunate news of his passing that may not regularly check our news. Meanwhile, alongside this announcement, the community is welcomed to visit Dae Shore to participate in an informal gathering for the duration of the day (Wednesday, May 27). A formal celebration of Teragg's life and honoring of his accomplishments is in the works, with news to follow of the date and time.
