<b>6. Why are Judges needed nowadays?
  - Judges help educate people on the rules that keep the game going as a safe place to interact with one another and communicate. Without the rules, lawlessness would result in a toxic social environment, even with the advanced maturity and age spectrum playing the game. I personally have met players as young as age 6 still in the game at present, and as old as in their 80's. And, whereas the majority of players are older, not everyone chooses to act like adults. :)

<b>7. What if my friends/family perform a crime?
  - As a Judge, you are still responsible for making sure everyone follows the rules, without bias. Sadly, this occasionally means someone you love has to talk to a Judge. However, there are procedures in place to prevent conflict of interest.
For example, if an offender is in the same social circle as a Judge during a posted investigation, the Judge is responsible for recusing themselves from the matter, and making sure another Judge or Justice-level Archon takes care of the case.
But, for something small, like your bestie performing a one-off filter-skipping, you can whisper them to gently remind them that the use of prohibited language can get them in trouble, to please refrain.
This is one of the negative parts of being a Judge - doing the right thing sometimes means reminding your buddy that they still need to follow the rules.

<b>8. What kind of person would make a good Judge?
  - I'd say, someone that isn't afraid of doing the right thing, and also wants to genuinely help people. A good Judge isn't vindictive in nature, nor hotheaded. They're slow to anger, and able to keep their cool in high-stress situations, especially when offenders are out to push their buttons constantly. (And believe me, people love trying to rile up the Judges.)
A good Judge is also in the game for the long haul, as the position calls for a lot of dedication, both in time and energy. They also have to be willing to drop what they're doing to be an aid to others, even when it isn't convenient for them.
A Judge also has to be a respectful person to others, both in-game and out of game - in other words, genuinely benign and trustworthy as a person behind the screen.
And, of course, a good Judge has a respect for the law and enforcing said laws.

<b>9. What if I apply, and aren't chosen to be a Judge?
  - Don't worry. It's not the end - you may not be chosen as a judge for this round, but may be filed as possibilities the next time positions are open. Keep up the good work!

<b>10. What do the background checks look for?
  - I can't say for sure, as I'm not part of that decision-making process. But I am guessing they're looking for red marks, past and present, and any activities that might break the Terms of Service (ToS). If you're confused about the results of a background check, I'd mail Archon Primogen Alilolelotte.

<b>11. When should I know if I passed the background check
<b>and can be interviewed?
  - I wish I had a concrete time frame. This can take several weeks once the application deadline passes. Once the background checks come back, I will mail applicants about scheduling an interview, or letting them know they didn't pass the check.

<b>12. Do Judges ban people?
  - No, that is on a high Archon level, or GM level. We can warn (most common), give a Justice Time-Out, which prevents people from talking for a select period (uncommon), or jail (rare).

<b>13. What happened to Teragg/is he ok?
  - Teragg is just fine. He's still with us as our treasured advisor in the Justice Team.

<b>14. I sent in an application for an interview, but what
<b>if I changed my mind?
  - That's okay, just sent me a note that you're canceling your application.

<b>15. If I have other questions, can I talk to you?
  - Absolutely. I'm usually starved for conversation, so hit me up. Or, if I'm not around, mail me, and I'll get back to you.
