First off, I completely agree with what you said, you had alot of valid viewpoints that really made me think deep about what you said.

I think perhaps i didnt express myself in the correct way I really wanted to get my view across, because yes the roleplay and culture is really what seperates this game from many others and has created a community that is special and bonding.

For me, and my personal lived experience is that i've come across many players who 1. gaurd the essence of roleplay so strongly it's become a deturrent to the notion of roleplay.

there are some paths whom aren't to be mentioned because slander is forbidden on here, that make the notion of roleplay unbareable. if you strip away all the aspects of this game what you are left with is simply that. a video game.
It should be fun, should be inviting and welcoming and they're  some that take the essence of roleplay so serious, they truely make for a toxic enviroment.

to be able to attract new players, we must move with the times and adress where things no longer work. The common theme of walking new members into a subpath is shoving weeks of written homework and roleplay stories into a nbox and saying "message me when you're done." where once upon a time, guides took the time to spend time with their fledglings and actually  GUIDE them into the lore of the subpath. really showed new members the fun and community that once was a subpath.

activity and membership numbers are so low that notion is nearly impossible. when was the last actuual roleplay event where it wasnt simply a game of luck aimed to bribe the community into activity with the promise of coin and a legend mark.

Some paths are but ghosts in the event community.
there are a few paths I see activly welcoming and putting together events and are doing a wonderful job

but!! in todays era or Tik Tok / PlayStation / PC / XBOX etc.. these kids 12-19 ARE NOT, I REPEAT are not going to want to do weeks long of homework and reading to join a path noones really roleplaying in. we are 20+ years into a game because of the time an commitment we put in as kids, and refuse to leave BECAUSE of the time and commitment and bonds we've made but even we are dying out.

the induction of Kruna items really helped throw alot of RP out of the window. it bascailly turned the characters into an everyday halloween fest.

I agree with much of what you said, but sticking to a script that was written 20 years ago is a major reason why this game has never advanced.

we are but a dying breed and we are almost extinct....
