Dear Community, After receiving the deeply saddening news about the loss of our friend and teacher Hroth, my thoughts (no doubt due to my natural instincts as a historian) turned to fixing Hroth's memory in our shared history. I have often asked individuals or small groups to write a eulogy for a departed friend or familymember to contribute to our Remembrance Board, both to inform others and as an expression of healthy mourning for a great loss. However, with Hroth I was uncertain. Should only one, or very few, be given the opportunity to pay tribute to the man who touched so many? I was not comfortable with that--certainly we all should be able to express our thanks for this servant of the Kingdoms who did so much and asked for so little. It is with this in mind that I would like to invite all communitymembers, should they feel comfortable, to contribute a line or two thanking Hroth and wishing him well. By virtue of necessity the messages must be kept brief (a sentence or two), but I will do my best to include all of them. Please send all your contributions to me (Qantao) by May 17th at 12:00pm PST for inclusion. I'm certain that Hroth would appreciate the gesture. Thank you very much, I remain, Yours in history, Qantao Historian | |
