Subject :Mage PK -- Things I've learned
Date :6/15
Some of you know, I have been putting in time to get better at pk in this game. Although I am not the best, I wanted to share many things that I have learned that might help others enjoy maging in PK

I will be speaking as a young mage, and not a top in the event.

I am not a tutor, but I am happy to help in any way I can. If anyone has differing or additional tips, let me know!

Sharing is caring <3

Of course, almost all of this is just my opinion!

<b>Survivability

If you have less than Sam vita, expect to die 1-hit, always. This expectation helps to understand a few things.

- Healing to "full" is far less important than healing rapidly (you die 1 hit no matter what)
- Sooth is great, food is better
- Use a heal as a targeter to find invis rogues hunting you (often they are fast)
- If you hit anything that feels like a potential invis person, eat/sooth... it'll save your life
- Highly recommend being able to cast with a mouse, even if you mainly play keyboard style. Things like quick dozes off dis's, or quick heals on poets

<b>Contributing

- Anything that can assist the Poet burden
    - Heal poets
    - ASV'ing
    - SC (if sam) but don't vex
         * If you KNOW you can vex + 1 hit, go for it, but do
            not spam vex
- Doze on aethers
    - You are so likely to die, try not to "hold" a doze for
       too long
- Good targets
    - Poets who just HB'd (they either need a dis, or stuck for
       11s)
    - Almost anyone who is just dis'd
    - Isolated players
*You will learn some are better than others, an
isolated warrior is likely not worth the doze but an
          isolated rogue may be (opinion)
- Attacks
    - Better off saving HF's than dozes. Small HFs that are unlikely to 1 hit are great for final executions on heal outs. You are unlikely 1-hitting anyone anyway, patient and assist the final kill on heal outs
*If you are confident you can 1-hit, do it!!
- You can zap to undoze someone
- Vita attacks and HFs work on your own team when slept, so caution!

<b>Awareness

Items
- Carry Scrolls of invocation, protection and red potions. Even if you don't need them, support your tops between rounds. They absolutely can be the difference.
- Have max of either Acorn or Meat scrap, ideally both
- I carry 3 pipes and my main pipes are always starting at 100

Support
- Teammates who are poisoned -- especially invis -- cure them! Maintain the stealth!
- Learn what all alignment dispells look like

Of course, there are so many styles and ways to contribute, these are just a handful things I have found helpful as I continue to learn.
