Hello all! I'm not the best around but lots of people have asked me about hot keys/macros so I have put together some info because sharing is caring. Hopefully this sparks more knowledge sharing because I'm sure I'm not optimal. <3 I am in a fairly constant state of changing my keys, but I almost always only change one, give it some time and then change another. I like to force myself to use it for a while so I really know what I like, and what I don't like. I also try to keep the changes from PvE to PvP minimal, keeping similar keys. This has changed as I have started to be more offensive in PvP but I try to maintain that theory. I also, personally find that you just need to find what works for you, considering a few meta components to fighting and hunting. Very fluid state, it reminds me of when I played Starcraft. Here is just a rough idea of where my hands are spending their time depending on the actions I'm doing. Of course, these are just my estimates to give an idea. Movement: Arrows 80% Mouse 20% Thoughts: I think the "best" style is likely much more mouse movement. It offers advantages such as: movement with targeter active, reduced clicks, faster casts. I am often setting targeters with mouse, and sliding back to keyboard. Casting: Num-pad 90% 1-0 num 9% "Z" 1% Thoughts: Not exactly sure what to say here but reducing clicks for spells is typically my theory. <b>Mouse Buttons: I have a simple, two button gaming mouse. I use two setups. Make sure "Simple click" is enabled. This is how I smoothly walk through caves while para'ing.
