Nature abhors a vacuum.

With the absence of any authority figure in the Nexus, it is only a matter of time before one of the many threats to our kingdom will rear their ugly heads and step in to take this world for their own.

Rather than wait for the inevitable, it would be in our best interests to ally ourselves with one who can take on these threats.

The progenitor of magic still sleeps beneath the Vortex, sealed away in perpetual slumber by mortals and his four apprentices, the totem spirits. He was not slain, because, without him, magic would cease to exist in our world.

Likewise, the biggest threats to our kingdoms rely on this magic to subdue their enemies.

Though his complete knowledge of magic drove him into madness, this madness pales in comparison to the alternative malevolence of threats like Sagu and Mupa, or the threats of Malgalod.

It's time that the kingdoms begin to start seriously considering fending for themselves. We have immortals, but lack any dream weaver or game master to protect us. This doesn't look like it is going to change any time soon.

Would that we could somehow bring back Mug, but with his heroic sacrifice, his silver thread is irreversibly severed, and none have been able to fill his shoes since.

We must make a choice. Which of the few paths available to us is least likely to lead to our destruction?
