I've learned that we cannot gain karma by mentoring new members to the kingdom. I won't go into the foolishness of leaving these people to their own devices with nobody to show them the ropes. What business is it of mine if they fall on hard times and turn to a life of crime? Even so, it seems to even this uncultured woman that the Totems should have given us ways to earn karma throughout other means. A few likely possibilities come to mind, but I think the most balanced solution would have been a karma award for Crafting, at each new level. That would also help put money in the pockets of new citizens as they work to gather materials for sale. I hear people say that denying people's desires is the gods' way of saying "Hello".
