                  -Foolsgold-

Death is just the beginning.

"That's my new motto." He said to himself while gazing at the setting sun; Its array of orange and yellow burning into the reflection of his eyes. A smirk slowly crawled across the side of his face. It was clear he was thinking back to what made him the way he was. His new life had begun and he roamed it soul-less.

It was a hazy morning, that unforgettable day, and he was awakening just as the sun burned through it. He had always been a positive man, not one to judge, nor the person you'd find betraying another. Little did he know at these early hours of the day that this was about to change.  Gathering up a basket of goodies, he prepared to head over to the North western edge of Buya where the beggars roamed.

There was one beggar particularly he liked to see. He called him "Goldy" for despite what people thought of him, despite the stones they threw, and despite how they thought he was crazy, "Goldy" was always as pure as gold. And so he befriended "Goldy" and brought him meals with what he had to spare in his lonely life.

By midday on his trip the clouds rolled in over the palace. He remembered it so vividly for the smell of rain was so instinct he could feel the approaching pitter-patters within his mind.  Something was different and so very wrong.

Suddenly, a sharp pain developed in his left shoulder and knocked all breath from within his chest. He fell forward and turned quickly enough to see "Goldy." What was he doing? "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" he shouted as "Goldy" smiled. It was the crooked smile, the look within his eyes blank and unchanging. Before he knew it , darkness fell upon him and when he awoke his clothes had been changed. These were not his clothes; they in fact belonged to "Goldy." Or should he say, "Foolsgold."

"There he is!" the loud shout still rang within his ears. It seemed "Foolsgold" had some debts to pay and his insanity wasn't at favor either. Yet, he was smart enough to trick them. To trick me. I was never his friend. Only an escape route.

Just like that, his life was taken by a few fish clubs. Yet, this was only the beginning, his life had just begun.

When his spirit reached the Shaman, he did something very unlawful, he gave the soul that lingered there to her. And with a fair trade, he was given life. "Thank you," he said before feeling his body fill with more energy. He took in a breath of air and walked to the setting sun. Revenge flowed through his veins.

Yes, it was a pitiful sight, seeing old Foolsgold raise his soiled arms to shield himself. I couldn't feel sorry for him, I had no soul. I let out a deep chuckle and walked away when my revenge was done. And yes, death is just the beginning. I will roam these kingdoms dead.. but alive. More alive than I could ever imagine.

He placed a herb pipe in his mouth, it couldn't kill him after all, and began heading towards Kugnae. He had some unfinished business with a thief that gave him such loneliness. "No more forgiving. No more shrugging off the inevitable. A new life."
